The Tortolita Preserve Loop Trail is located at the end of Moore Rd. You'll come to a gate. Park your car, then open the gate and walk through it. Be sure to put the chain back around the gate to keep it closed. A short walk on the dirt road will lead you to the beginning of the trail on the right side (step over the yellow metal bar). You'll enjoy some wonderful Arizona desert, including Saguaro cacti and mountain views. If you are lucky, you may even get to see some wildlife as we did. Three javelinas were roaming the area just outside the gate when we were there.

Part of this trail does run along the backside of homes so not as rural as other trails in the area.
